Mid Term Reviews of Four Sector Programmes: Experiences and Lessons Learned from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Zambia and Rwadna

 
Since the introduction of Sector Wide Approaches (SWAp) in 1997 by Andrew Cassells and Katja Janovsky, sector reviews have gained in importance and are being used in a variety of countries with increasing frequency. In 2008, the author was given the opportunity to be team leader in four Mid Term Reviews (MTR). In describing his experiences from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Zambia, the following conclusions can be drawn, applicable to Annual and Mid Term Reviews of (health) sector programmes.
